Lighting the way

"The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Matthew 4:16
Oriental Mindoro is home to eight tribes of the indigenous Mangyan people. They are a beautiful, humble, kind people who are oppressed, poor, uneducated, largely un-reached, and with limited health-care. Our vision is that they will become whole, free, honored, empowered -- this is the heart of God for His children.
We have six incredible medical assistants and midwives on our ministry team, and they work with us to love Jesus and serve people well.
Through friendship, advocation, and empowerment, we seek to serve the Mangyan people, and other impoverished people groups, by providing them with free maternity and medical healthcare, livelihood and health education programs, feeding, biblical counseling, and discipleship.
We are able to serve full-time as missionaries, without charging fees, by donations through churches and individuals. We provide salaries for all of our medical/ missionary team, provide medical care, and support our own family, by walking in faith moment by moment, trusting God to supply our needs.
The proclaimed and radically-lived Gospel is central to all that we do – for it is the only true hope for a desperate world.
God is concerned with social justice and we seek to model His heart of love and put into action His compassion and mercy for the oppressed, the voiceless and broken, in order to help end cycles of injustice and poverty.
Jesus led by serving, therefore, so do we.
Every Sunday afternoon we have fellowship in our home, where local pastors, families, and friends gather to worship, share God's word, and pray over each other. We also have weekly Bible studies and fellowship groups. We are passionate about helping to unite the local pastors and churches, bringing a spirit of reconciliation, healing, and unity to the local body of Christ.
Healing Center and Maternity Home
For over fifteen years we have had the vision to build a Healing and Maternity center, accessible to far-reaching Mangyan villages, and focused on providing free Holistic care for the tribal people. Mangyan moms and babies have a high mortality and morbidity rate, and as part of our passion to see whole communities and families transformed and made whole, it is essential we do more to bring them direct care.
This center will be a place of peace, where all tribal and poor people are given priority, honor, value, and quality medical, maternity, but also holistic healing care. It will be planned and built, and eventually run by Mangyans.
We are praying and hoping to acquire land and begin building in the next year, and our vision includes having Mangyan-built waiting huts that could accommodate families who hike from their mountain village to wait for labor to begin, as well as to recover post-partum before hiking home.
Many people come to our home who are walking through trauma and brokenness, and are experiencing healing as the Holy Spirit ministers to their hearts, spirits, and minds. We are passionate about walking beside people well as they have bondage broken off of their lives and learn to walk in freedom and healing.
We believe that true healing is wholistic and encompasses body, mind, soul, and spirit. With this in mind, we envision a healing center as being part of our health-care campus, where people can come for prayer, encouragement, counseling, love, discipleship.
Please pray about partnering with us in this vision and if you'd like to give directly to this project, get in touch with us.

Mission And Vision
Our Mission:
To embody the love of Jesus as we serve as missionaries and health workers. We do this through health care, maternity care, feeding programs, discipleship, partnering with and uniting the local church, health and family wholeness education in Mangyan villages, inner-healing intensives in our home, and opening our home to families in need.
Because God is passionate about whole-person healing, so are we.
Our utmost desire is to partner with God as He brings healing- spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally to individuals, families, and communities.
Our Vision:
- To establish a wholeness center where people come to have their broken bodies treated, and also have their broken spirits and hearts nurtured, set free, loved, and pointed to Jesus, who is the ultimate Healer.
- To build a Maternity center where families can give birth peacefully and safely, and moms and babies can have a chance to change the statistics of high mortality surrounding birth and postpartum.
- Through our partnership with other ministries, to see the villages and people of the Mangyan tribes reached with the love of Jesus, empowered, educated, cared-for, sustained, and healthy.
